What is Title IX?
Title IX is a federal law that applies to all public colleges and universities who receive any federal financial assistance and operate education programs. The law is designed to protect all participants in the university’s educational program from discrimination, including parents/guests, students, and employees, from discrimination on the basis of sex. Title IX also prohibits sexual harassment, which includes sexual assault and sexual violence. The law protects all participants from discrimination in recruitment, admissions, financial aid and scholarship decisions; course offerings and access; hiring and retention of Employees; and the provision of benefits and leave to students and employees.
Title IX is enforced by the United States Department of Education Office for Civil Rights.

Part 106.
